You know what keeps you warm during the winter months in Chongqing, China? Spicy hot pot. Unfortunately, places like Moscow and Denver won’t be populated with as much hot pot in the upcoming month, but they will be heavily attended by our DECENT team!
The Future, Today
Since our headquarters is based in Bratislava, Slovakia, it’s kind of a big deal to be a part of the biggest tech event happening there – such as the FutureNow conference that was held in Bratislava last Wednesday. We are invited to dozens of conferences around the world every year and it’s great that we are able to be a part of one on our home soil.
FutureNow comprised of a multi-day startup challenge which featured the most promising startups from the land. Blockchain was a hot topic this year and DECENT made sure to be heavily represented there sending several members from our business development, marketing, and PR teams who met with some very cool up-and-coming projects with the potential to develop on DCore. This is the 8th year of the event, and we hope that there are many more to come with us having a larger role in each.
Two sides of the Pacific… Again!
There seems to be a common theme when it comes to simultaneous events being held in China and America – just as we saw last month with our two hackathons. This month went a bit more “conferential”, per se.
Our CEO, Matej Michalko, was on hand to attend the 8th Global Video Media Forum VMF2018 in Chongqing, China, hosted by CCTV News Content. The topic this year revolved around the possibilities of blockchain within the media industry, which is a direct fit for DECENT, and Matej himself.
While that was happening, our North America-based advisor, Daniel Riddell, attended the Global Blockchain Summit in Denver, Colorado. This was a rudimentary conference in regards to blockchain, which gave Daniel the opportunity to teach many newcomers about the prowess of DECENT and DCore.
Near the Red Square
Once again, we want to remind you that we will be hosting the second to last leg of our hackathon series in Moscow, Russia, this upcoming month from November 16 to 18. The theme for this hackathon revolves around how to use blockchain to create a positive social impact. We still have spots open for teams who want to participate, so if you want a shot at the 20,000 DCT prize and you have an interest in building a great idea on blockchain, register HERE!
Finally, we want to tell you briefly about the progress our tech team has made this quarter. Q3 was a huge deal for DECENT, as it saw a new release of our website, our DECENT web wallet, new voting tool, and we released our first DCore SDK on GitHub.
Looking for a more detailed breakdown of our Q3 milestones? Look no further, you can find the full recap and get a chance to check out what we have in store for Q4 this year, in our recent blog post. Also, if you’d rather hear your DECENT news rather than read it, we will have our first edition of a new audio/video summary, called The DECENT Story, coming soon.
Happy Halloween from all of the DECENT team!
