We’ve had a pretty busy past couple of weeks here in Europe as well as in the US and Asia. Our tech team released the long-awaited DCore SDK, Matej won a prestigious award, we’re making an impact at some of the largest blockchain events around the world, and ALAX is preparing to make the move over to DCore. Let’s jump right into the details!
Our Doors Are Officially Open
Last week, our tech team launched the last major milestone for Q3 of 2018, our DCore SDK. The DCore SDK allows any developer to build their blockchain application on DCore from anywhere in the world. Located on GitHub, we’ve provided guidelines and simple illustrations to make the development as simple as possible. We support languages including Java, Pure, and Java backends. For a complete breakdown of our SDK, check out the SDK release blog.
Q3 was a huge quarter for us this year, as we completed major updates that positively affect our community. In addition to the SDK, this quarter we launched a new website, released our wallet and created a voting tool. A full Q3 update from the tech team is in the works and will be published soon.
Award Season is Approaching!
The end of the year in every industry is usually known as the “award season”. To get things started, DECENT’s CEO and Founder, Matej Michalko, won 3rd place for the IT Personality of the Year in Slovakia. He stood on the podium next to industry-leading professionals from tech giants AT&T and IBM.
Matej attended our bi-weekly breakfast, a fully catered company-wide meeting geared toward inter-team collaboration with a casual atmosphere, and had this to say about the award, “This award is for all of us. Each and every one of you has contributed to DECENT’s success and this award is really about you. I wouldn’t be accepting this award if it weren’t for DECENT and DECENT wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for you. Thanks for all that you do and congratulations to all of us!”
Confluence through Conferences
One week ago, we headed to Las Vegas for the HoshoCon 2018 conference from October 9-11. The focus was on the importance of blockchain and cryptocurrency security for individuals and businesses alike. The venue witnessed over 1,000 blockchain entrepreneurs, crypto traders, investors, legal experts and senior-level executives engaging in various topics related to safety and security in the crypto space.
Meanwhile in Europe, Bratislava hosted the Blockwalks conference which connected top-level government officials and industry leaders from all over the globe. The conference took place on October 10 and focused on utilizing blockchain in the public sector and exploring the beneficial impact the technology can have in a multitude of business fields.
Next up for DECENT will be a trip to MIPCOM in Cannes on October 15-18, 2018. The 4-day event focuses on bringing blockchain to the media industry, an area we are deeply involved in and our business development team, consisting of Michal Geci, Daniel Riddell and Peter Pongracz, along with Denys Yin from our China team, will travel to France to spread the word about DECENT.
One Step Closer to ALAX
Our joint venture project, ALAX, has some exciting news as well. Over the past week, we were able to sponsor the Blockchain Asia Forum in Indonesia, which the ALAX team attended. This amazing event offered some important exposure within the South East Asia community, which is a large target demographic for their blockchain mobile app store.
While we’re on the topic of ALAX, they have officially begun testing the migration from Ethereum to DCore. A full guide to the token swap will be coming out soon so make sure to follow ALAX on social media and their official Telegram channel for the latest news and the announcement of the official ALAX swap to DCore.
