Monthly Recap – October 2019

November 08, 2019

October marks the first full month of Fall. Leaves are changing colors and the temperature is dropping, but DECENT stays hot, ramping up productivity and powering into Q4. This month, we showcased the sweeter side of blockchain with Lyra chocolates, partook in tech and innovation-specific conferences and improved our DCore technology with more features.

Let’s recap those major accomplishments and more in our latest monthly recap!

Mmmmm, Blockchain 🤤

Did you find yourselves in need of some special chocolate candy bars to pass out for Halloween this year?

You could have gone with Lyra’s Gallery chocolate series and satisfied hungry costumed children as well as spread awareness of blockchain. How does this chocolate correlate with blockchain, you ask?

Lyra Gallery—Scan your QR and find out what’s behind the sweet mystery!

DECENT, along with 3IPK and Lyra, has incorporated the DCore blockchain into the supply chain management processes of Lyra’s newest Gallery chocolate series. In their prototype release, a QR code can be found on the back of each of these candy bars. Upon scanning, the complex database pulls up the date, time and location of the distribution life cycle of each main ingredient that makes up these delicious chocolate bars.

Here in Bratislava, Lyra Gallery chocolates are now available for purchase at participating Yeme grocery stores. We hosted an event to celebrate the first store to publicly consumerize these chocolates and demonstrated how easy it is to view the exceptional track-and-trace capabilities of our DCore technology.

Slovakia—The Rising Leader in Blockchain 🌟

Staying a lot closer to home this time around, we started off October by being invited to not one but two major conferences in Slovakia. In Košice, our very own Martin Mrva presented at Slovakia Tech in front of more than a thousand innovative tech professionals and enthusiasts, including our friends at 3IPK.

Also, near our headquarters in Bratislava, we were excited to see a very DECENT turnout at Blockwalks 2019, where we enjoyed discussions about the newest technology trends and how blockchain can be used in the public sector. At the conference, there was a special invite-only plenary session where Matej Michalko presented the China-CEEC Blockchain Centre of Excellence and 17+1 Platform which supports the creation and expansion of blockchain adoption in Central and Eastern European Countries and China.

The exceedingly popular annual content market conference, MIPCOM, returned to Cannes, France, this month, and our very own representatives from DECENT Media Group (DMG) were there to network with thousands of media masterminds in attendance.

Our Tech and Our Team Upgraded—We’re Hiring! 💪

Speaking of DCore, our developer team is constantly working on making improvements to our platform, and this month was no different. We released DCore version 1.4.2 which fixed some usability issues, added memory management improvements and a few fixes in the daemon.

Similar to our constant drive to improve our technology, we are looking to upgrade the personnel in our Bratislava office! If you’re interested in joining a fast-paced, up-and-coming, leading blockchain company, swing by our careers page and drop us your resume. Currently, we are looking to fill our Head of Sales and Sales Representative positions, so, if this sounds like you, we’d love to have you join our team here at DECENT!
